Paying For Care

All students and employees are eligible to use the Health Clinic. You do not have to have student health insurance to access our services.

We will charge your health insurance for services we provide to you. (The exception to this is for medication provided to you from our pharmacy. We are not able to bill insurance for medication. However, we work to make medications as affordable as possible. We can charge medication to a student’s account.)

The amount that you will pay for medical services depends on the services you receive and your specific health insurance coverage. You are responsible for charges you incur and that your health insurance does not pay. At the time of service, we ask patients to pay any co-pay amounts. If you are unable to pay the copay amount at the time of service, talk with our staff to discuss the possibility of having your copay charged to your ètv account.

  • Using your Student Health Insurance at the University Health Clinic
Good news! The UniversityHealth Clinic is in-network with the student health insurance plan. The means that if you are subscribed to the student health insurance plan, you will only pay a a $20 copay per office visit. After that, your healthcare at the Health Clinic is covered at 100% of the in-network charge for covered medical expenses—and the $500 deductible is waived. Note: If labs or other services are sent to an outside lab, the $500 deductible will apply.

We are able to bill most major medical health insurances including, but not limited to:

  • Health First Colorado (Colorado Medicaid)
  • ètv’s student health insurance plan
  • ètv employee health insurance, with the exception of Kaiser

However, the Health Clinic is not an in-network provider for some health insurance plans. We are also not a provider for Medicaid plans for states other than Colorado. This means that if you subscribe to one of those plans and you access care at the Health Clinic, you could be responsible for most or all of your bill, according to this schedule of healthcare charges.

If you don’t have student health insurance, and you don’t have one of the health insurance plans offered to ètv employees, we recommend that, prior to your first visit to the Health Clinic, you either 1) call your health insurance provider or log into your health insurance member portal to confirm whether the Health Clinic is an in-network provider with your insurance plan, or 2) call us in the Health Clinic to confirm whether your insurance benefits will apply in the Health Clinic. We bill under the name Campus Clinics in Greeley, CO. Even if your insurance will not cover services at the Health Center, you can choose to receive services as part of our Bear Care Plan.  Still have questions? Call us at 970-351-2412—we’re happy to help you understand your options.

  • Learn more about the Bear Care Plan

The Bear Care Plan is for individuals for whom:

    1. The Health Clinic is an out-of-network provider
    2. Your insurance carrier will not pay for services you receive in the University Health Clinic
    3. You have a high deductible insurance plan

If you purchase the Bear Care plan, you will pay $199 for four simple visits to the Health Clinic at no additional cost. Simple visits include, but are not limited to:

    • X-Rays
    • cold and flu checks
    • rapid mono and strep testing
    • minor injuries
    • sick and well care visits

Bear Care Plans can be purchased when needed and as often as needed. If you do not use all four visits in an academic year, the visits will roll forward to the next academic year.

Please note that lab work sent to an outside lab is not covered by the Bear Care Plan. If it is recommended that you receive lab work, we will attempt to send the testing to a lab that is in network with your health insurance, and benefits will be paid according to the benefit schedule of your health insurance plan.

We recommend you contact your specific health insurance carrier prior to accessing care at the Health Clinic to make sure the Health Clinic is an in-network provider with your health insurance plan. The Health Clinic bills insurance under the name “Campus Clinics.”  When you call your insurance company or login to your insurance portal, see if "Campus Clinics" in Greeley is in-network provider.
